Data deletion
The short version
Whaat does not store the content of anyone's messages. A message is translated in memory and delivered, and the text is not written to our database or our logs. So for most people there is nothing held to delete.
What we do hold is listed below, along with how to have it removed.
If you messaged a business that uses Whaat
We never store your phone number or what you wrote. The only record connected to you is a one-way cryptographic hash, used so that the "this conversation is automatically translated" notice is sent to you once rather than on every message. A hash cannot be reversed back into your phone number.
The business you messaged is the controller of your data, so requests are best sent to them directly. If you would like the hash removed as well, email contact@shakeapp.today from any address and tell us which business you messaged and the phone number you used. We will compute the hash, delete the matching record, and confirm — within 30 days, and usually within a few days. We delete the number you gave us once the request is answered.
If you are a business using Whaat
We hold your account configuration: business name, WhatsApp number identifier, chosen languages, plan, contact email, billing identifiers, and an encrypted access token.
- Cancel from your account page, or email contact@shakeapp.today from the address on the account.
- We disconnect your number from Whaat immediately, which stops all processing.
- We delete your configuration, stored credentials and hashed sender records within 30 days.
Deleting your Whaat account does not affect your WhatsApp Business account, your number, or your message history — those belong to you and to Meta, and we cannot delete them.
Removing Whaat's access yourself
You can revoke our access without contacting us at all. In Meta Business Manager, open Business settings → Accounts → WhatsApp accounts, select your account, and remove Whaat from the connected apps or assigned partners. Our access token stops working immediately.
What we may keep
We retain operational records for up to 12 months — that a translation failed, that an account reached a usage limit — and billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Neither contains message content. Where the law requires us to keep something, we keep only that, and only for as long as required.
